Dekalin Dekasyl MS-1 white 290ml

Characteristics:
Dekasyl MS-1 is a universal flexible and adhesive sealant that hardens using atmospheric moisture. Dekasyl MS-1 is suitable for the production of internal and external elastic joints and seals, and can be used, for example, in the production of cars, buses, trains, caravans, in engineering and construction. As an adhesive, it is suitable where there are no high demands on the strength of the connection. Dekasyl MS-1 is based on MS polymer.

Adhesion:
In general, Dekasyl MS-1 adheres well even without primer to clean, dry, dust- and grease-free substrates made of aluminum, stainless steel, galvanized steel, zinc, copper, brass, powder-coated metal, most painted metal surfaces, glass, PVC, polyester (GRP), painted and varnished wood, etc. Not suitable for PE, PP, PC, PMMA, PTFE substrates. Surface cleaning is recommended with Dekaclean Ultra (several adhesion tests are recommended before application). In cases where, due to high thermal or physical stress, especially in a humid environment, there are high demands on adhesion, the use of Decavator is recommended. Instructions for Use:
Dekasyl MS-1 can be easily applied by hand or with an air gun at temperatures between 5°C and 35°C. When using Dekasyl MS-1 as a sealant, Dekasyl should be worked or smoothed within 10 minutes (at 20°C and 50% relative humidity) with a spatula or trowel, occasionally moistened with a mild soapy solution. Be careful that the soapy solution does not penetrate between the surface and the sealant, as this would cause a loss of adhesion.
When gluing, the glued parts must be assembled within 15 minutes (at 20 °C and 50% relative humidity) after applying Dekasyl MS-1. The higher the temperature, the shorter the processing time!
In general, an adhesive thickness of 2 mm is recommended if similar materials (similar stiffness) are bonded. The greater the difference in thermal expansion, the thicker the glue bead should be. Consult your Decalin dealer for more information.
At a temperature of 20 °C and a relative humidity of 50%, Dekasyl MS-1 can be overpainted with most industrial paints already 10 minutes after application. The best adhesion of coatings is usually achieved if you paint within 4 hours after applying Dekasyl MS-1. Cleaning tools or removing uncured Dekasyl MS-1 residue can be done with a clean, colorless cloth soaked in Dekaclean Ultra, acetone or MEK. It is recommended that an attempt is first made to detect possible damage to the substrate with these cleaning agents.

Storage
