Dekalin Dekasyl MS-2 white 290ml

Characteristics:
Dekasyl MS-2 is an adhesive based on MS polymer that also serves as a sealant. Dekasyl MS-2 is suitable for the production of elastic structural joints, which also require high strength.
Dekasyl MS-2 is used in the caravan industry, in the manufacture of motorhomes and recreational vehicles.

Roof bonding of buses, caravans, motorhomes and RVs
Gluing aluminum or polyester corner profiles on trailers

Properties:
Free of solvents, isocyanate and PVC
Very good resistance to UV radiation and aging
No need to use a primer
Generally good adhesion on various substrates without the use of a primer, e.g. Dekasyl MS-2 can be used as a seal on PVC floors
Permanently elastic in temperatures from -40 °C to +120 °C
Neutral, odorless and fast curing
Repaintable with most industrial paints or paint systems, both alkyd based and dispersion based (due to the large range of different types of industrial paints we recommend a paint compatibility test!)
Recoatable after skin formation (wet to wet), which generally does not affect the curing speed

Adhesion:
In general, Dekasyl MS-2 adheres well even without a primer to clean, dry, dust- and grease-free substrates made of aluminum, stainless steel, galvanized steel, zinc, copper, brass, powder-coated metal, most painted metal surfaces, glass, PVC, polyester (GRP), painted and varnished wood, etc. Does not adhere to unprepared polyethylene, polypropylene and Teflon®. In cases where high adhesion is required due to high thermal or physical stress, especially when wet, the use of Decavator is recommended. Decavator is a so-called 2 in 1 product (cleaning and activation), it degreases and prepares the surface of the substrate in one step. For more information about Decavator, read the specifics

Instructions for Use:
Dekasyl MS -2 can be easily applied by hand or with an air gun at temperatures between 5°C and 35°C. When using Dekasyl MS -2 as a sealant, Dekasyl should be worked or smoothed within 10 minutes (at 20°C and 50% relative humidity) with a spatula or trowel, occasionally moistened with a weak soapy solution. Be careful that the soapy solution does not penetrate between the surface and the sealant, as this would cause a loss of adhesion.
When gluing, the glued parts must be assembled within 15 minutes (at 20 °C and 50% relative humidity) after applying Dekasyl MS-2. The higher the temperature, the shorter the processing time!
In general, an adhesive thickness of 2 mm is recommended if similar materials (similar stiffness) are bonded. The greater the difference in thermal expansion, the thicker the glue bead should be. Consult your Decalin dealer for more information.
At a temperature of 20 °C and a relative humidity of 50%, Dekasyl MS -2 can be overpainted with most industrial varnishes already 10 minutes after application. The best adhesion of coatings is usually achieved if you paint within 4 hours after applying Dekasyl MS-2. Cleaning of tools or removal of uncured Dekasyl MS-2 residues can be done with clean colorless
with a cloth soaked in acetone or MEK. It is recommended that an attempt is first made to detect possible damage to the substrate with these cleaning agents.

Storage
Dekasyl MS-2 can be stored for 12 months in a closed (unopened) package in a dry place at temperatures between + 10 ° C and + 30 ° C (cassettes 18 months).
