Dekalin Dekasyl MS-5 white 290ml

Characteristics:
Dekasyl MS-5 is a highly adhesive MS Polymer with high initial strength and is suitable for the production of elastic structural joints. Because of the high initial strength, clamping times can often be reduced or clamps are not needed at all. Dekasyl MS-5 can also be used as a seal if the materials to be joined are similar (similar strength) or if mechanical fastening methods are used. Dekasyl MS-5 is used in the manufacture of caravans, motorhomes and recreational vehicles.

High initial strength

Adhesion:
In general, Dekasyl MS-5 adheres well even without a primer to clean, dry, dust- and grease-free substrates made of aluminum, stainless steel, galvanized steel, zinc, copper, brass, powder-coated metal, most painted metal surfaces, glass, PVC, polyester (GRP), painted and varnished wood, etc. Does not adhere to unprepared polyethylene, polypropylene and Teflon®. In those cases where high adhesion is required due to high thermal or physical stress, especially when wet, the use of Decavator is recommended. Decavator is a so-called 2 in 1 product (cleaning and activation), it degreases and prepares the surface of the substrate in one step. Instructions for Use:
Dekasyl MS-5 can be easily applied by hand or with an air gun at temperatures between 5°C and 35°C. When using Dekasyl MS-5 as a sealant, Dekasyl should be machined or smoothed within 10 minutes (at 20°C and 50% relative humidity) with a spatula or trowel, occasionally moistened with a mild soapy solution. Be careful that you soapy
the solution did not penetrate between the surface and the sealant, as this would create a loss of adhesion.
When gluing, the glued parts must be assembled within 15 minutes (at 20 °C and 50% relative humidity) after applying Dekasyl MS-5. The higher the temperature, the shorter the processing time!
In general, an adhesive thickness of 2 mm is recommended if similar materials (similar stiffness) are bonded. The greater the difference in thermal expansion, the thicker the glue bead should be. Consult Decalin for more information.
At a temperature of 20 °C and a relative humidity of 50%, Dekasyl MS-5 can be overpainted with most industrial paints already 10 minutes after application. The best adhesion of coatings is usually achieved if you paint within 4 hours after applying Dekasyl MS-5. Cleaning tools or removing uncured residues of Dekasyl MS-5 can be done with clean colorless
with a cloth soaked in acetone or MEK. It is recommended that an attempt be made first to determine any possible reaction to the substrate with these cleaning agents.

Storage
