Sika 6470 Paintable car body spray gray Spray 500ml
Protective, fast-curing spray coating against flying stones
DESCRIPTION:
Sikagard®-6470 S is a fast-curing, durable, protective coating based on synthetic rubbers in a spray with a high anti-corrosion protective effect and with very good anti-noise dampening properties for the treatment of especially the lower parts and undercarriage of car bodies against abrasion. Thanks to the properties of Sikagard®-6470 S, the original surface structure can be easily preserved. Sikagard®-6470 S shows good recoatability, especially with water-based coating systems. After drying, the protective layer is tough, resistant to the abrasive effects of gravel and especially corrosion.
ADVANTAGES:
Excellent application properties (no dripping or dripping)
Easy preservation of original textures Good resistance to abrasion and road salt
Excellent acoustic and damping properties Excellent adhesion to various types of substrates
Remains flexible after drying Good application properties at low temperatures
Good temperature resistance
Quick drying
Quick repaint
AREAS OF APPLICATION:
Sikagard®-6470 S is a spray-applied anti-corrosion coating (from spray) for the repair and protection of vulnerable, painted parts of vehicles such as door sills, wheel arches, front and rear aprons. It can also be applied as a soundproofing product for example on wheel arches etc. Sikagard®-6470 S shows good adhesion to various types of lacquers, metal primers, metals and PVC without pretreatment. This product is only suitable for professional users. Before application, it is necessary to carry out adhesion tests with current substrates and conditions to ensure material compatibility.
CHEMICAL RESISTANCE
Sikagard®-6470 S is resistant to fresh water, sea water, salt solutions, oils and acids. The above information is offered as a general guide only. For advice on specific applications, contact the Sika Industry technical department who will carry out verification / approval tests.
METHOD OF APPLICATION
Preparation of documents
The surface must be clean, dry and free of rust, dust and grease. Metal substrates must be provided with the required anti-corrosion coating (e.g. steel without surface treatment, etc.).
Application
Before applying Sikagard®-6470 S, the can must be shaken well (approx. 40 times). Apply at room temperature and cover surrounding surfaces to protect against contamination. Spray from a distance of approx. 25 cm with X movement of the gun in the form of continuous spraying. Apply a continuous coat and do not spray on parts of the brakes, engine or exhaust system. If an extremely thick layer is needed, it is necessary to spray in several layers, while it is necessary to leave the previous layer to dry sufficiently. After use, invert the can and spray in short bursts to clean the nozzle.
Removal Uncured Sikagard®-6470 S can be removed from tools and equipment with Sika® Remover208. Once the glue has hardened, the material must be removed mechanically. Hands or other affected body parts must be cleaned immediately with cleaning wipes such as Sika® Cleaner-350H or another suitable industrial cleaner and water. Never clean your skin with thinner!
Repainting Sikagard®-6470 S is repaintable after 20 minutes at the earliest with commonly used conventional coating systems, including water-based coating systems. This time can be shortened by drying at a maximum of 40 °C. Due to the wide range of colors, it is necessary to carry out adhesion and compatibility tests for verification.
