Alkyton Thermo-ROST-OLEUM - Black 1078 heat-resistant paint is a temperature-resistant silicone-modified alkyd resin. The refractory paint normally resists temperatures up to 650 ° C and can withstand loads up to 750 ° C.

Recommended use
Alkyton - All refractory paints are designed for application to new or well cleaned steel, iron and cast iron, to slightly corroded surfaces, or to old, functioning refractory paint coatings. It is particularly suitable for use on stoves, fireplaces, chimneys, garden grills, exhausts, boilers and wherever high temperature resistance is required in the interior or in the protected exterior.

Appearance:
Semi-matt (black);

Color:
1078-black

Density:
1.38 kg / liter black

Dry matter content volume
black 40%

Recommended coating thickness:
35-45 micrometre dry film = 85 micrometre wet film (single layer)

EU limit values 600 g / l (2007); 500 g / l (2010)

Yield:
10-12m2 / Ltr at 35-45 micrometers dry film
it depends on a number of factors such as porosity and roughness of the substrate, loss of material during application, and the like.

Preparation of documents:
Remove oil, grease and any other surface contamination by washing or pressure cleaning in combination with suitable detergents. Remove scale, loose rust and poorly adhering old paint remnants with a scraper and steel brush to grade St 3 (ISO 8501-1: 1988) or lightly sandblast or sand. Old, smooth, well-adhered and non-degraded refractory coatings should be roughened to ensure good adhesion and compatibility with Alkyton-refractory paints. The surface must be dry and clean before and during application.

Mix thoroughly before use, continue to mix during application. If possible, do not dilute (dilution may be necessary when applying at low or high temperatures). High dilution reduces the amount of dry matter in the coating and thus the film thickness. Dilution may affect drying times. Do not apply on hot or warm surfaces! When using the painted surface for the first time, gradually and slowly warm to 150 ° C (by loosening the fire in the stove, idling the engine, heating in the oven, etc.), this will cause the paint to burn.

The permissible air, treated surface and paint temperatures are between 5 and 35 ° C, relative humidity below 85%. The surface temperature must be at least 3 ° C above the dew point. The optimum application conditions are 20 ° C and below 70% relative humidity. It is good to ensure sufficient air supply during drying. Attention! The coating is more susceptible to mechanical damage until completely matured.

Application and dilution:
Brush: Use flat brushes with natural long hair bristles. Do not dilute.

Roller: Use 8-12 mm polyamide rollers. Do not dilute.

Air spraying: Dilution: 10 - 25% v / v S6005
Nozzle size: 1-1.5 mm
Pressure: 2-4 bar
